The Helping Families in Mental Health Crisis Act

people What do you know about H.R. 2646 the Helping Families in Mental Health Crisis Act of 2015? According to an article in Mental Health America, the Murphy-Johnson legislation “is an important start to making comprehensive mental health reform a reality in America.” and “is a critical step forward toward treating mental illnesses like we treat every other chronic disease.”

This sounds good; however, there is a lot of controversy and some opposition surrounding the bill. In a web cast and article in Medscape, Dr. Jeffrey Lieberman of Columbia University notes that the bill, “would enhance the assurance that services provided in the public sector, services that receive support from the federal government largely through the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), would need to be scientifically driven and evidence-based.”

Appointment Slips in QuicDoc Professional

The Scheduler in QuicDoc Pro allows you to print an appointment slip to remind a client of a future scheduled appointment – one that has already been created in the QuicDoc Scheduler.

Here’s how to do it. In the Scheduler, select a scheduled appointment. Then right click for a menu and select Print Appointment Slip. If a header has been set up, it will appear at the top. You can add or edit the header. The appointment slip lists the provider name, location, date, and time, and allows for a cancellation notice.

The Latest Version of Office Therapy®

Are you using the latest version of Office Therapy? We are currently on version 11.6.03.

Since the release of Version 11.6, DocuTrac’s Development team has been working on fine tuning the Office Therapy program; making improvements and tweaking the Claims Manager.

If you are not setup to automatically receive updates and wish to do so, you can download the latest update on the Downloads page of our web site. A password is required.

QuicDoc Enterprise Update

For our QuicDoc Enterprise customers using QuicDoc Version 6.245G or earlier, it is important that you upgrade as soon as possible to V6.2.46.

Depending on your workflow, the signature preferences that you’ve set up, and in certain specific situations, signatures may become invalidated on some treatment plans.
