July 2011 Newsletter

DocuTracWow! Has it been HOT! We have all been suffering the effects of this sweltering weather unless you are lucky enough to be vacationing somewhere with a nice tropical breeze or you live in a cooler Northwestern state. From damp clothing to short tempers, hot and humid weather affects us all. Ahh, but just hold out a few more weeks and the weather will change.

As I write this, budget debates are taking place in Washington and one thing seems certain as we move toward 2012. Spending on healthcare will change affecting all of us personally and professionally. Additionally, the push for electronic records will only progress more rapidly as state and federal regulators press for technical advances in an effort to streamline costs while increasing accessibility to patient records.

June 2011 Newsletter

DocuTracAs we celebrate the 4th of July, we should remember the tens of thousands of our sons and daughters that are deployed around the globe paying the price for our independence and freedom. The toll taken on the lives of these young people and their families is rarely seen by those who do not work in behavioral and mental healthcare. Those that help the veterans on a daily basis, know how their lives are affected. I salute our military and I salute you the behavioral health providers for helping our veterans as they return home.

Enjoy this holiday with family and friends and relax during your time off this summer to prepare for a very busy fall. With Meaningful Use, ANSI 5010 billing standards, and planning the move to ICD-10-CM, we all have a lot on our plate for the remainder of 2011.

May 2011 Newsletter

DocuTracAs I write this edition I have just returned from the National Council Conference on Behavioral Health held in San Diego. My colleague and I met many interesting directors, clinicians and advisors from all of the mental health disciplines. This conference is highly regarded in the industry as the place to gain up to the minute treatment practices, fellowship with other providers and view the latest technology the vendors have to offer. If you get a chance to attend the conference next year, to be held in Chicago, I would highly recommend it.

The main topic of conversation this year on the exhibit floor was all about change, Meaningful Use, ANSI 5010 billing standards, the move to ICD-10-CM, and how the government views mental health providers and facilities in the wake of these new initiatives. The overall consensus was that there are very challenging times ahead.

April 2011 Newsletter

DocuTracSpring is finally here with warm days, fresh breezes, and the desire to just get out of the house and office. The only downside is that we already have so much to do with our continuing workload; and now we have the added household chores, yard work, and extra time being outdoors with the family.

There may be one thing different this year and that is the escalating rate of changes to the rules and regulations in our industry. Meaningful Use, ANSI 5010 billing standards, the move to ICD-10-CM, all these new initiatives seem to be happening at once. At DocuTrac we understand the challenges of meeting these requirements, controlling costs, and increasing revenues while providing the best patient care possible. We stand ready to help. Our teams are in constant touch with government entities and certifying bodies to keep our system updated and compliant with changes as they occur. If it is important to you then it is crucial to us. Take a moment grab a cup of coffee or tea and see what’s new and interesting about our software, our company, and the industry.
