October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month

This month marks the 30th Anniversary of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, launched in October, 1987. According to NCADV (National Collation Against Domestic Violence), one woman in America is fatally shot by a spouse, ex-spouse or dating partner every 14 hours. The NCADV supports and assists the victims and survivors of domestic violence.
